Hospitals

How many NHS trusts run England's hospitals. A trust is an organisation, usually running several hospital sites, so the count of trusts is smaller than the many hundreds of hospital buildings behind them. When the number falls, trusts are merging into larger groups, concentrating management; when it rises, provision is more fragmented. The buildings themselves stay broadly constant.
